Is it common to have a B/M almost immediately after eating?

The reason I'm asking this is that my wife says it's not normal to have a bowel movement right after eating. Almost every morning, not all of them, but most, if I eat breakfast, then I'll have a mess in my diaper within 10 minutes or less. I'm not certain, but I think that eating just activates the bowel function, and it's nothing to worry about, but my wife is less certain. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
One reason I ask this is that I'm trying to loose some weight, and I often don't eat a breakfast, and that means that my first B/M of the day most likely will be while I'm out someplace, not safe at home. And yet, other days, I can go all day without having one. Since I never know when it will happen, this makes being diapered a must. I normally have only 1 or 2 a day, so it's not that big a deal, and if my first one is small, I know that I'll have another one later in the day.
