Once again I am new to this site and looking over the posts, I came across the one that deals with being noticed wearing diapers.

I was at my dentist last month and every time I go there they ask health questions. I always say "good" under the circumstances,(diabetes). So on this particular visit I was out of disposable diapers and was wearing cloth ones.

I was laying there in the chair, my hygienist on the left and the dentist on the right. I could see the two of them playing eye tag with each other. She would look at him and then look down at my crotch and then back at him. Nothing was said but I knew, they knew, I was wearing diapers[/code][/list]

Most people that I have encountered throughout the years have been very polite about the whole situation. Very rarely will you find anyone confronting you with "Hey, are you wearing a diaper?" as it is impolite and very much against social behavioral norms.

I did have to put up with some heckling in school because of my condition... but since I have moved on into the "real world" I haven't had any issues at all.

If someone does notice, odds are they aren't going to say a word about it. People can and will draw their own conclusions from what they see, and know better than to confront someone about a medical problem. It's like asking someone in a wheelchair why they need it, or asking an individual with Down's Syndrome what is wrong with them... it's just not done.

The only things I really get now-a-days are the occasional innocent questions from young children. Kids are very very observant... and are not afraid to ask a parent "Mommy, why is that man infront of us wearing a diaper?" Sometimes the parents hush the kid up and appologise, sometimes they just ignore it. I try my best to be patient and understanding... after all, kids do need to find out that there are many varieties of different people in this world... but we are all human and we all deserve to be treated with respect. If it takes me explaining why I am wearing a diaper to help them comprehend that, I'll gladly take a moment and do so.

I think anyone who has worn cloth diapers in the day has had one, or more of those embarrassing moments. The only thing worse would be having a major leak while wearing a diaper that was noticable. Not much you can do now, but I would recommend wearing an extended wear diaper for visits such as that.

I used the cloth kind for a long time for night use, but always found the disposables to have less bulk for day use. Most of the extended wear diapers don't have much bulk. I know when I wear the Abri X-Plus (extended wear disposable diaper) in the day no one can tell I'm wearing a diaper. I would recommend trying some before your next dentist visit.

Another thought on the subject might be how you are dressed? When wearing a thick diaper like that. Do you wear your pants so that the waist band is over the top of the waist of the diaper. If so DON'T Be sure to leave your pants a little down so that the top edge of your diaper is sticking out. Depending on the shirt your wearing you may or may not want to tuck it in? Often times if you have a untucked shirt that hangs down to your crotch that will cover lots.

Also as far as pants go I hope your wearing pants that are at least one size bigger then what you would wear normally. That way your allowing for the diaper

The Ultimate way to cover up a thick diaper is to take on the farmer Jed look as my husband calls it By this I mean overalls. With Overalls you can hide even some of the thickest diapers out there. Not that I'm a big fan of overalls but they work great for that purpose and I do wear them fairly often.

Unfortunately your options on what to wear with diapers can be more of "what not to wear" But at the same time you can still dress rather nice. Suit jackets hanging down cover lots of sins as well. Also a REAL BIG ONE is Wear Dark Colors! Leaks don't show real bad with Dark Colors. Also the bulge/diaper lines don't show as well either.
