I am transfixed by the flooding happening now in Louisiana. I noted that the governor put our an appeal for supplies, including adult diapers. How times are changing.

I'm heartbroken and concerned for those folks, too. I'm amazed and gratified that incontinence awareness has actually evolved to the point where adult diapers are considered a necessary item for disaster survival in the genre of bottled water, canned food, flashlights and batteries, etc. I'm sure the responders are mainly thinking about meeting the needs of elderly and infirm people and/or a band-aid solution to a disabled sewer system, but hopefully it's a good start.

That's funny, my health insurance people told me they were a "convenience item" it's a good thing we were on the phone and not in a room together.

WOW!!! And I thought only Gov't. bureaucrats were that far out of touch. I get where you're coming from, PB&J - A good dose of reality for those folks is clearly in order.

I remember the red cross calling for adult diapers during Katrina as well. Lots of displaced elderly, nursing home, and hospital folks.
